Top 5 Freebies of the Week 3/1/2014

Is it really March? Seriously? I don’t know about you, but with all of the crazy weather, February flew by! I can’t believe that next month… NEXT month I’ll be having a BABY! Well, hopefully. I’m due April 24th, SO it could be May, but I’m trying to think positive. 🙂

This past week was only our second full week (no snow days, no two hour delays) since Christmas break. I don’t ever remember a winter as snowy and icy as this.

It was so nice to get back to our usual routine. If you are a {Facebook Fan}, you might have seen this fun anchor chart earlier this week.

Irregular Verbs Anchor Chart

My kiddos had fun learning about those mutant irregular verbs.

This is the only thing I remembered to take pictures of this week because I was a mega slacker with taking pictures, but I will definitely get on the ball next week so I can show you more of what we’ve been up to.

For now, let’s dive into our fabulous freebies!Top 5 freebies pic

Number 5.

Lion or Lamb March Freebie

Will March be like a lion or a lamb? Help your students keep a graph to decide the answer with this adorable freebie from Cynthia Vautrot! Use the included lions and lambs to do a daily graph for the entire class. A smaller version for the students is also included. Students can complete these individually each day by cutting out either a lion or a lamb and gluing on the day to show the weather.

Number 4.

Point of View Freebie

If you’re teaching your students about point of view this year, you’re going to want to grab this great freebie from Cyndie Dunn aka Chalk One Up For the Teacher. This adorable poster set includes a poster for first, second, and third person point of view in kid friendly language. 🙂

Number 3.

St. Patrick's Day Multiplication

St. Patrick’s Day will be here before you know it, so check out this multiplication freebie game from Hanging with Mrs. Hulsey! It’s competitive, fun, and great for practicing facts because every round is different!

Number 2.

Luck of the Irish FREEBIE

Here’s another great St. Patrick’s Day freebie from Simply Skilled in Second. This flip flap book will be tons of fun for your St. Patrick’s Day festivities!  Your students will do a making words activity, write about they would do if they found a four leaf clover, and summarize a favorite St. Patrick’s Day picture book.

Number 1.

Self Evaluation Freebie

I don’t know about you, but sometimes this time of the year can be a bit challenging. Students haven’t been able to go outside for recess in months, the days are long and cold, and everyone starts to feel comfortable. This is a great time to shake things up and reevaluate. That is why I love this freebie from The Write Stuff. This self-evaluation resource is designed to help even very young students identify HOW they learn. It is best used at the beginning of the year or after a long break from school. Students are given little tokens that they place on their desk during a lesson. As the lesson is being taught, students move the “cloud” up to the top of their desk that best describes how they are feeling AS the lesson is being taught. (Self Awareness) Happy faces are used for younger learners.

Please leave some feedback for these lovely resources.

Have a fantastic weekend!
